      Content API with Graph QL

Ben Middleton and Oleksii Kushnir (SDL)

In this session Ben and Oleksii will explain how the new Content API will enable you to retrieve content from both Sites and Docs to enable customers to combine structured and unstructured content. For example, a commerce web page for a product which includes embedded product specifications or links to support manuals.

This content can be retrieved using the GraphQL query language in a more efficient and optimized way and will include support for Dynamic Linking, Conditions, Session Preview and Taxonomies

SDL Tridion Sites Connectors and integration accelerators

Niclas Cedermalm (Solutions Architect, Connected Solutions)

Niclas will walk through the latest development of the common connector architecture coming with ECLv3. This will enable connectors to be run both on Tridion CM and CD side. And make it possible for application developers to consume and manage external data through the new Graph-QL service.
In addition will Niclas also go through the different integration accelerators for Commerce, CRM etc that are based on the common connector architecture.
During the presentation there will be a few deep-dives into source code and demonstrations of different functionalities of the new connector architecture.

      Guiding the editor: Page Regions

      Anton Minko (SDL)

SDL Tridion Sites 9 introduces the concept of the page regions that re-defines the page authoring experience in Content Manager Explorer and Experience Manager.
A Region is an area of the page that contains a set of related content. Predefined regions give guidance to page creators on what content is expected on the page.
      This will allow you to
      · Define page structure using the region schemas
      · Control the page content with the region constraints
      · Author new pages with regions in CME and XPM
      · Migrate existing pages to start using regions
      · Learn how to render content from the region
DXA example content was re-designed to leverage predefined regions. For example, we will demonstrate how to map region metadata to the region model of the web application to customize page design.

The journey towards a new UI: Graphene, REST, XPM and beyond

Alvin Reyes, Derya Donmez, Sergii Aleksiiev, Likhan Siddiquee, Raimond Kempees

Have you wondered what it takes to turn a User Experience vision into a new User Interface roadmap?

Last November we showed you a peek into the future UX and UI beyond Tridion Sites 9. In this talk we invite you to follow our journey into revamping the Tridion Sites User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI), and its underlying architecture.

Going from the abstract to the concrete, we will explore how SDL’s Graphene design principles apply to managing Tridion data as well as see how a new decoupled architecture will support the new UX.

We’ll end by showcasing our progress for the new Experience Manager UI and technology stack in a demo and where we will go to in the future.

      Tridion DX + Roadmaps

Arjen van den Akker, Arno van Nijnatten (SDL)

The customer journey is a culmination of touchpoints – the moments a customer interacts with a brand before, during or after they purchase. Unfortunately, often the way organizations create, translate and deliver content is based on organizational structure, rather than on how the customer experiences it. The result is a fragmented, broken customer journey. That’s why we built SDL Tridion DX: to solve the discontinuity that occurs between the pre-sale, sale and post-sale experience. This session will present our view on the market and our strategy to keep winning in this space. We will provide a view into our roadmap for both SDL Tridion Sites and SDL Tridion Docs that will show the features and capabilities for upcoming releases, and how these blend into a combined SDL Tridion DX solution.

      Collaboration Tools for Tridion

      Marko Milic (EXLRT)

The purpose of this session will be to demonstrate seamless integration of Tridion Sites to centralized collaboration hub (Microsoft teams or Slack) by replicating users and groups based on Tridion Sites security model and Active Directory, creating communication channels and shared resources and providing data using available Tridion extension points (Core Service, Event System).

By integrating Tridion Sites into existing stack of Microsoft Technologies users can effectively collaborate on shared resources in a more intuitive, organic way with focus on productivity and efficiency.

      The Unified Delivery Prophecies

Damian Jewett (Senior Technical Consultant, Content Bloom)

The future promises greater integration between data sources, content types and CMSs. The world is demanding content refined for accelerated consumption. SDL is developing cutting-edge techniques for consolidating information for more engaging digital experiences. Some great new technologies are being leveraged, such as GraphQL, ReactJS, “Headless” CMS, Elastic Search and Experience Optimization. In this presentation, we explore futuristic scenarios and discuss how they can be implemented using the next iteration of SDL’s Tridion DX product line.

Managing Releases - Automating Content Porter

Mark Saunders (Principal Consultant and European Director, Content Bloom)

Mark Saunders shares his experience working towards the automation of a release process. Managing Multiple Releases. With auditing, concurrent release, workflow, translation and Content Porter!

We’ve all got our gripes with workflow.
We’ve all got our thoughts on Content Porter.
And most of us have worked in Enterprise organisations with a multitude of concurrent releases at any one time.

Each of these factors presents it’s own problems and could consume a talk in its own right. In this talk, Mark Saunders will give an overview of just how we pulled it all together and utilised elements of Tridion to have it all work in a much-improved process.

ECL connecting to an Amazon S3 bucket to store large binaries out of Tridion and the broker but still pull them in at run time

All our sites sit behind an Akamai CDN and have quite heavy caching on them (so most requests don’t’ actually hit our servers). When a page is published then we have a hook in with Akamai so that on a successful publish it will clear the cache from that page and so the updates will come through.

Tridion.js: The good, the bad, and the ugly of node.js-powered Tridion implementations

Frank M. Taylor (Principal Software Architect, Tahzoo)

It’s a tale of two Tridion Tech Stacks. Both using node.js. One uses Nodejs in the front-end. The other uses node.js in the back-end. What did we learn from doing them? What do we regret? When should we incorporate node into a Tridion implementation in the future, and how should we do it?

Demystifying highly scalable Tridion infrastructures: A walk through time

      Albert Andjar (Consultant, Trivident)

Throughout the history humans have sought to improve life with new inventions. Some of these inventions have been abandoned and long forgotten, while others have withstood the test of time and have improved tremendously. In this session we will discuss how over time highly scalable Tridion infrastructures have emerged and make predictions what we will see in the future. In this session we will revisit the major improvements and discuss the (im)possibilities, advantages and considerations based on historic and recent infrastructure setups used in projects. This session will attempt to demystify the various setup choices currently available to setup a highly scalable Tridion infrastructure.

      Automated Visual Regression

      James Scott, (Technical Architect, Unilever)

This is a tool that we have built on Node JS and use when we deploy a new code base. Before we deploy we run the tool that takes a screenshot of all the pages on the site. After we deploy we run the same tool to take another set of screenshots and compares them with the initial set with a specified tolerance. If the screenshot differs it then gets put into a list for a manual review and the testers then run though those to check what a regressed. Using this we have picked up quite a few regression bugs that may have got missed.
